What should I do if I have a question or need a prescription refilled? A. We want to be able to answer your questions as quickly and conveniently as possible. This usually involves getting your records and having your nurse return your call later that day. Please tell our receptionists if you have urgent questions; they can find someone to handle your concerns immediately. Q. What should I do if I’ve had a lab or diagnostic test? A. We want to provide you with your lab and test results as soon as they are available for two reasons. One, so we can initiate new treatment, if necessary. And two, to help you avoid undue concerns regarding the results. We feel this is best accomplished by arranging a phone appointment on a specific day when we can call and inform you of the results. This will be coordinated with you when you have your test performed. Q. What should I do if I am having a problem with my heart? A. In emergencies, always call 911 immediately. In other, less urgent, situations, we will promptly put you in touch with the triage nurse who will personally help you resolve your problem. Q. What should I do if I am having a problem when your clinic is closed? A. If you have a problem or concern at any time, please call us at (608) 260-2100 for assistance. Our answering service takes care of “after hours” calls to our clinic telephones, and will refer your call to the Wisconsin Heart and Vascular Institute physician on call. Q.
