Q: Does my insurance plan cover Wisconsin Heart and Vascular Institute services? A: Each insurance plan is different. It is your responsibility to understand the details of your insurance coverage. Please contact your insurance carrier prior to your visit to verify your coverage for being seen at Wisconsin Heart and Vascular Institute. Feel free to contact our business office toll-free at 866-234-4181 with any questions. Q: Do you have my insurance information? A: We have only the insurance information you provide to us, therefore please help keep us up-to-date on any changes. If you were first seen by a Wisconsin Heart and Vascular Institute provider at a hospital, either as an inpatient or outpatient, the hospital will have your insurance information. If you have a follow-up visit with a Wisconsin Heart and Vascular Institute provider at one of our clinics, you will need to provide your insurance information to our clinic since our records are separate from the hospital’s records. Q: Will you bill my insurance? A: For your convenience we will bill your primary insurance plan and any additional insurance plans you may have. For this reason, it is important that you provide accurate insurance information. Wisconsin Heart and Vascular Institute will bill you for any balances not paid by your insurance plan. Q: Do you accept Medicare insurance? A: If you have Medicare coverage, we will bill Medicare directly for all office, outpatient and inpatient visits. You will be responsible for 20% of Medicare’s approved amount and any remaining deductible or uncovered balance. If you have supplemental insurance Wisconsin Heart and Vascular Institute will submit claims on your behalf if you provide complete insurance information. Q: I received a bill for services provided by Wisconsin Heart & Vascular Institute but never saw the Wisconsin Heart & Vascular Institute physician indicated. Why am I being charged? A: Several hospitals and clinics in south-central Wisconsin utilize the expertise of our cardiologists to review and interpret medical images that accurately diagnose heart and vascular disease. Although you may not see those physicians in person they provide important information for determining your heart health. Q: How can I apply for a payment plan or financial assistance? A: Please contact our business office toll-free at 866-234-4181 to learn more and to determine if you qualify. |
